The future of Couhaib Driouech could be written far from PSV Eindhoven. The Moroccan international winger does not seem to hold a priority place in the plans of the Dutch club as the new season approaches.
According to the Eindhovens Dagblad, the 24-year-old player is logically considering a departure after two seasons without managing to establish himself as a regular starter. During the recent friendly match against Villarreal, he even appeared to be behind young Amir Bouhamdi in the pecking order, a situation that could accelerate discussions about his future.
However, PSV does not wish to sell off a player recruited from Excelsior Rotterdam in July 2024, who is still under contract until June 2029. The Dutch champions would prefer a permanent sale and are asking for several million euros, with an amount of at least seven million euros having been previously mentioned.
Celta Vigo continues to closely monitor his situation. The Spanish club is looking for a winger capable of bringing speed and imbalance to the flanks. The Galicians had initially considered a loan, a formula that does not align with PSV’s intentions, which are more favorable to a permanent transfer.
Driouech may thus be led to change clubs in order to obtain more playing time. Last season, the Moroccan nonetheless had an interesting record with nine goals and eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
