Manchester City has taken a new step in the Ayyoub Bouaddi case. According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira, the English club has reached a preliminary agreement with the young Moroccan international for a contract running until June 2031. The Manchester City management is now continuing discussions with Lille to reach an agreement on the transfer.
Having delivered impressive performances with LOSC and the Atlas Lions, the 18-year-old midfielder has become one of the main attractions of the summer transfer window. Manchester City particularly values his technical skills, game intelligence, and ability to play in multiple roles in midfield. The Citizens’ interest is concrete, although no deal has been officially confirmed yet.
However, Lille remains in a strong position as Bouaddi is under contract until 2029. The northern club is reportedly demanding around 100 million euros for an immediate departure, while a deal that would see him stay at LOSC for another season could help reduce the transfer fee. President Olivier Létang is also keen to keep his player for an additional year.
The announced agreement between Bouaddi and Manchester City does not yet constitute a definitive transfer. The two clubs must now find common ground, but the situation seems to have made significant progress with the green light given by the Moroccan international.
