The young Moroccan defender Mohamed Habib Zinbi is set to leave RSC Anderlecht to continue his development in Spain. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 16-year-old left-back has chosen to join the project at Atlético de Madrid.
The player is expected to initially join Atlético Madrileño, the reserve team of the Madrid club, which competes in the Primera Federación, the third tier of Spanish football. This choice is intended to allow him to take a new step in his development and gradually approach the professional level.
Trained at RSC Anderlecht, Zinbi is considered one of the promising young talents from the Brussels academy. A Moroccan international at the youth level, he primarily plays as a left-back and is currently among the players in the youth teams of the Belgian club.
However, Anderlecht is only expected to receive a training compensation in this operation. Since the Belgian club did not offer the player a professional contract, it will not be able to negotiate a true transfer fee. Zinbi’s arrival in Madrid would thus represent a great opportunity for the Moroccan, but also a sporting loss for the Anderlecht training center.
