The young Moroccan winger Nizar El Jmili has taken a new step in his career by playing his first minutes with Villarreal’s first team. The 21-year-old participated in a friendly match against Benfica on Friday, as part of the summer preparations for both teams.
Substituted in at halftime, El Jmili played the entire second half. Villarreal’s coach, Iñigo Pérez, made several changes at the break to observe different young players from the club. The Yellow Submarine ultimately lost the match 2-0, with goals from Rafa Silva and Vangelis Pavlidis.
Born on November 30, 2004, in Castellón de la Plana, Nizar El Jmili primarily plays as a left winger but can also be utilized on the right side. The Moroccan player is particularly appreciated for his technical skills, one-on-one duel capabilities, and his ability to create danger in the flanks.
A member of Villarreal B, El Jmili extended his contract with the Spanish club last May. This first appearance with the professionals is a significant reward for the young winger, who will now aim to make the most of the preparation period to convince the coaching staff to grant him further opportunities with the first team.
