Yanis Benchaouch continues his career at Red Star FC. The 20-year-old Moroccan international goalkeeper leaves AS Monaco to join the club in Saint-Ouen, where he will aim to take a new step in his development and move closer to professional football.
Born on April 10, 2006, in Périgueux, the 1.88 m tall keeper joined the Monaco Academy in 2021 after his time at Trélissac FC. At Monaco, he progressed through various youth categories before joining the Elite Group. He was also part of the squad that won the Gambardella Cup in 2023.
Benchaouch also made a name for himself with the Moroccan youth national teams. A finalist in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, he played a significant role in the historic run of the Atlas Lions during the U20 World Cup. A starter throughout the tournament, he contributed to Morocco’s qualification for the final before being injured against France in the semi-final. Mohamed Ouahbi’s players then went on to win the world title against Argentina.
After several years of training in the Principality, Yanis Benchaouch is now opening a new chapter at Red Star. This transfer is expected to allow him to continue his development in an environment closer to the demands of high-level football and to gradually gain experience.
