The Moroccan futsal team began its journey at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 with a draw (2-2) against Iran on Monday in Riyadh. This was an encouraging start against the 5th-ranked nation in the FIFA standings, just ahead of Morocco, which is ranked 6th.
The two goals for the National Team were scored by Bilal Bekkali and Soufiane Chaaraoui. The Atlas Lions had to come back each time after trailing 0-1 and then 1-2, demonstrating great determination and strong team cohesion.

Under the guidance of Hicham Dguig, the Atlas Lions of futsal showcased an appealing performance, combining tactical rigor with technical mastery. With this result, Morocco remains well-positioned in Group B, which also includes Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
Held from November 7 to 21 in Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Solidarity Games bring together over 3,500 athletes from 57 countries across 21 disciplines, in a spirit of brotherhood and competition.
