The Moroccan U17 national team delivered a strong performance against Venezuela on Saturday, October 25, in the United Arab Emirates, in a friendly match that ended in a 3-3 draw.
The Atlas Cubs, reigning African champions, opened the scoring in the 12th minute thanks to an own goal by Eider Barrios. FUS Rabat midfielder Abdelali Eddaoudi doubled the lead in the 40th minute with a well-placed strike. Late in the game, as Morocco trailed, AS Monaco winger Nahel Haddani snatched an equalizer in the 90th minute, allowing his team to avoid defeat.
This match is part of the training camp led by Nabil Baha ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup, which will kick off on November 3 in Qatar. The Atlas Cubs will play a second friendly next Wednesday against Switzerland, also in the United Arab Emirates.
Furthermore, the FRMF announced that national coach Nabil Baha has called up goalkeeper Gibril Bayoumi, who plays for French club Amiens SC (Ligue 2), to replace Yassine Badaoui, the Olympique de Marseille goalkeeper, who has been sidelined due to injury.
