Sevilla FC is keeping a close eye on Abdel Abqar, the central defender from Deportivo Alavés. At 25 years old, the Moroccan international is at a crucial stage in his career, with his contract set to expire in June 2025. Given the uncertainty surrounding his future in LaLiga, the Andalusian club could make a move to sign him this summer, taking advantage of tensions between the player and his current club.
Defensively solid, Abqar stands out for his reading of the game, aerial ability, and quality in playing out from the back. His profile aligns with Sevilla FC’s needs as they look to strengthen their backline. His speed and aggressiveness in duels make him a valuable asset for a highly demanding league like LaLiga.
While Sevilla seems well-positioned, competition could complicate the deal. Other clubs are closely monitoring the player, so the question remains whether Sevilla will step up their efforts to secure a promising defender at a reasonable cost.
