Le Havre’s promotion was achieved with the presence of these Moroccan players.
Le Havre has finally secured their ticket to Ligue 1 after a thrilling 1-0 victory against Dijon in a suspenseful match on the 38th and final day of Ligue 2.
Despite two setbacks in the last two matchdays, Le Havre didn’t let their last chance slip away, despite the difficulty of the task against a Dijon team fighting for survival.
This encounter, which saw the participation of the Moroccan quartet Oussama Targhalline, Oualid El Hajjam, Nabil Alioui, and Amir Richardson, was not an easy one for Le Havre. After taking the lead in the 11th minute, they had to fight throughout the match to at least maintain that advantage.
The match was interrupted in injury time due to the pitch invasion by Le Havre supporters. The referee then blew the whistle to resume the final seconds of the added time before eventually blowing the final whistle as the Dijon players refused to continue the match. A victory that allows Le Havre to return to Ligue 1 after a 14-year absence.
On the other hand, despite their absence from the match, the other Moroccans from Le Havre, Yassine Kechta, Nassim Chadli, and Abdelwahed Wahib, were present at the Stade Océane and celebrated their team’s promotion.
