Manama, Bahrain – Al Najma has officially announced the signing of the Moroccan striker Zachary Hadji on a free transfer from Luxembourg’s FC UNA Strassen. The 28-year-old forward will be embarking on his second stint outside of Europe. Early in his career, Hadji had a brief experience with Moroccan club Diffaa Hassani El Jadidi before returning to the European leagues.
Hadji arrives in Bahrain after a strong season with Strassen, where he showcased his versatility by tallying 13 goals and 12 assists in 26 games across all competitions. While those numbers are impressive, his most memorable performance came during the 2020-21 campaign with CS Fola Esch. That season, he shattered expectations by becoming the top scorer in the Luxembourg National Division with an astounding thirty-three goals, a feat that earned him a subsequent move to Swiss side Stade Lausanne in 2021.
Zachary Hadji comes from a notable football family. He is the son of former Moroccan international and African legend, Mustapha Hadji. His uncle is former AS Nancy striker Youssef Hadji (AFCON finalist with Morocco), and his brother is footballer Samir Hadji, who also plays as a forward in Luxembourg with Differdange.
