FC Famalicão recorded a resounding victory on the 14th matchday of the Portuguese league, winning decisively 4-0 against Estoril Praia (the team of Yanis Begraoui). Moroccan striker Yassir Zabiri was the key player in this success, scoring a spectacular brace and delivering a performance that earned him the Man of the Match title.

Zabiri’s two goals left a significant mark on the match. The first came very quickly, in the 2nd minute, when the striker opened the scoring with a left-footed shot after cleverly positioning himself and being perfectly assisted by Gustavo Sá. This early goal set the tone for the match and put his team on the right track. Additionally, Zabiri’s influence was also felt in the home side’s second goal. After making a good run, he was played through, and although his shot was saved by the goalkeeper, the ball rebounded to Gustavo Sá, who doubled the lead in the 24th minute. Although the U20 World Champion had two clear chances to extend the score (one shot hitting the crossbar in the 60th minute and another attempt stopped by the goalkeeper in the 67th minute), he came back late in the match to seal the score, netting the fourth goal in the 78th minute.

With this new brace, Yassir Zabiri now has 4 goals in 8 matches played in Liga Portugal this season. This excellent form is generating excitement, particularly in Morocco, where many fans would like to see him included in Hoalid Regragui’s squad for the 2025 AFCON despite the announcement of the official list. In the standings, Famalicão is provisionally in 5th place with 23 points, while Estoril finds itself in 13th place with 14 points.
