Panathinaikos officially announced the arrival of Anass Salah-Eddine on Monday. The Moroccan international left-back joins the Athens club on a one-season loan from AS Roma, with an option to buy included in the agreement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Arriving in Athens on Saturday night, the 24-year-old player underwent the traditional medical examinations before watching the league match between Panathinaikos and Panetolikos from the stands of OAKA on Sunday. He will wear the number 5 in his new colors.<\/p>\n
Trained in the Netherlands, notably at AZ Alkmaar and Ajax Amsterdam, Salah-Eddine made a name for himself primarily with FC Twente. His performances convinced AS Roma to spend over 8 million euros to recruit him in February 2025. Having been used sparingly in Italy, he was then loaned to PSV Eindhoven during the 2025-2026 season, participating in 25 matches across all competitions, including seven in the Champions League, with one assist.<\/p>\n
His arrival at Panathinaikos will also allow him to reunite with Azzedine Ounahi and Imran Louza, two other Moroccan internationals in the Greek squad. The club is counting on Salah-Eddine to strengthen its left side, where he will notably compete with Giorgos Kyriakopoulos.<\/p>\n
A Moroccan international after representing the Netherlands at youth levels, Salah-Eddine made his debut with the Atlas Lions in November 2025 against Mozambique. He has since participated in the Africa Cup of Nations and the 2026 World Cup, notably playing in matches against Brazil, Haiti, and the Netherlands before being named a starter against France in the quarter-finals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
