Walid Cheddira opens a new chapter in his career in Italy. The Moroccan international forward has definitively left Naples to join US Avellino, which officially announced his arrival on Friday, August 28.<\/p>\n
The Italian club confirmed that it has permanently acquired Cheddira’s sporting rights from Napoli. The 28-year-old forward has committed to a long-term deal with his new team, having signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2030.<\/p>\n
The amount of the transfer was not disclosed by Avellino in its official announcement. However, the transfer is estimated at 2.5 million euros. Cheddira thus leaves Naples after several seasons during which he primarily pursued his career through loans.<\/p>\n
The Moroccan already has solid experience in Italian football. Having played for Bari and Frosinone, he also represented Espanyol in Spain before moving to Sassuolo and then Lecce. His time at Napoli ultimately did not lead to a lasting position within the Neapolitan squad.<\/p>\n
Avellino is now counting on his experience to strengthen its attacking line. According to figures provided by his new club, Cheddira has made 208 appearances in Italian professional competitions, scoring 49 goals and providing 16 assists.<\/p>\n
