PSV and the Rangers had indeed reached an agreement for a transfer estimated at eight million euros. Driouech had traveled to Glasgow to finalize his arrival and even attended the European match against Jagiellonia Bia\u0142ystok from the stands at Ibrox. A four-season contract, with an additional year as an option, awaited him before the operation was ultimately abandoned following his medical examination.<\/p>\n
The two clubs provided very different assessments regarding his thigh injury. PSV’s sporting director, Earnest Stewart, explained that the player was already in the final phase of his rehabilitation before his departure for Scotland. “We thought he could be available as early as the following week,” he stated. The Rangers, on their side, estimated his absence at about six weeks and wanted to recruit a player who could be operational immediately.<\/p>\n
Driouech therefore remains at PSV, where his contract runs until June 2029. Very affected by the failure of his transfer, the Moroccan must now be gradually reintegrated into Peter Bosz’s squad.
