Racing Santander has officially announced the arrival of Yassir Zabiri for the 2026\/2027 season. The 21-year-old Moroccan forward joins the Spanish club on loan from Stade Rennais, where he has been under contract since his transfer during the last winter transfer window. He will be playing in Spain until June 30, 2027.<\/p>\n
Originally from Marrakech, Zabiri was trained at the Mohammed VI Academy before launching his professional career at Union Touarga. He then continued his development at FC Famalic\u00e3o in Portugal before joining Rennes last January. To date, he has already played 37 official matches in the first division leagues of Morocco, Portugal, and France.<\/p>\n
The Moroccan international has particularly distinguished himself with youth selections. A key player in Morocco’s victory at the U20 World Cup 2025 in Chile, he scored five goals during the tournament, including a brace in the final against Argentina. His performances also earned him the Silver Ball, awarded to the tournament’s second-best player.<\/p>\n
His performances with the Atlas Cubs then opened the doors to the senior national team. Zabiri made his first appearance with the Moroccan national team on May 26, 2026, in a match against Burundi. He also has 30 caps with the U20 team and two appearances with the U23 team.<\/p>\n
With this loan to Racing Santander, Yassir Zabiri hopes to take a new step forward by benefiting from more playing time.
