Today, Monday, January 27, marks the final draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025. The event will be held at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat at 7:00 PM (local time), bringing together representatives from the 24 qualified teams for this edition, which is set to take place in Morocco.
The 24 nations will be divided into six groups of four teams. As the host country, Morocco is automatically placed at the top of Group A. The defending champions, Côte d’Ivoire, will also enjoy a privileged status, being among the teams in Pot 1.

Pot 1: Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire
Pot 2: Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, DR Congo, Burkina Faso

Pot 4: Mozambique, Comoros, Tanzania, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Botswana
Rules of the draw
The draw will begin with Morocco’s ball, which will be placed in position A1. Subsequently, the teams from the other pots will be drawn in the following order:
1. Teams from Pot 4 will be drawn first to fill position 4 in each group (A4 to F4).
2. Teams from Pot 3 will then occupy position 3 (A3 to F3).
3. Teams from Pot 2 will follow, filling position 2 (A2 to F2).
4. Finally, the remaining teams in Pot 1 will be assigned to the top positions of Groups B through F.
