Souffian El Karouani could be spending his final hours in FC Utrecht colors. According to De Telegraaf, Spartak Moscow has made a so-called “final” offer to secure the services of the Moroccan left-back.
The Russian club has reportedly put forward an offer of €6 million, plus €500,000 in bonuses. An agreement between the two parties now appears close, suggesting the imminent departure of the 24-year-old player.
Arriving on a free transfer in 2022 from NEC Nijmegen, El Karouani quickly established himself as a key figure on Utrecht’s left flank. Consistent and effective, he has maintained his form since the start of the season, naturally attracting interest from foreign clubs.
When recently asked, coach Ron Jans confirmed that his player would be available on Thursday for the European Cup match against Zrinjski Mostar. However, he could not guarantee his presence on Sunday for the Eredivisie clash against PEC Zwolle, indicating that the transfer is now on the verge of being finalized.
