AR-RAYYAN, QATAR - DECEMBER 06: Morocco players throw Morocco Manager Walid Regragui into the air at full-time during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Round of 16 match between Morocco (0) and Spain (0) (Morocco win 3-0 on penalties) at Education City Stadium on December 06, 2022 in Ar-Rayyan, Qatar. As had been anticipated for several days, Hoalid Regragui has officially announced his departure through a post on Instagram, confirming an outcome that the FRMF had long denied, even though the decision seemed already settled behind the scenes. This announcement, awaited by part of the public and widely commented on in the media, brings an end to his tenure at the helm of the Atlas Lions.

Attention now turns to the Federation, which is expected to release an official statement to clarify the timeline and modalities of the transition. The stakes are clear: to maintain the continuity of the project, stabilize the group, and prevent this change from impacting the team’s dynamics, just a few months before a major deadline.

The Mountakhab.net team takes this opportunity to express its gratitude to Hoalid Regragui. Beyond the results, he has left a mark on a generation and will remain, for many, one of the most significant coaches in the recent history of Moroccan football.
