Oussama Idrissi played a key role in his team’s strong start, providing an assist for Pachuca’s opening goal. However, a defensive error allowed Chivas to equalize before taking the lead with a second goal, which they held onto until the final whistle.

The match, played on Sunday evening as part of the 8th round of the final phase of the Mexican league (Clausura), was largely dominated by Pachuca, who controlled 66% of possession and posed the greater attacking threat with 18 attempts. However, efficiency was on the side of the hosts, who managed to convert two of their five chances.

As usual, Idrissi stood out with an individual effort in the 7th minute, dribbling past four defenders before delivering a cross that Arturo González converted to give the visitors the lead. But Pachuca’s joy was short-lived, as a misplaced pass near the box was intercepted by Chivas forward Alan Pulido, who leveled the score in the 18th minute.

The hosts then surprised Pachuca by scoring a second goal in the 37th minute through Luis Romo. Despite being down to ten men in the final ten minutes, they managed to hold on to their advantage until the end.

The match also saw Idrissi receive a yellow card, while his Argentine coach, Guillermo Almada, was sent off in the 41st minute after protesting a corner that was not awarded to the Moroccan player.
