Moroccan international Oussama Idrissi has opened his scoring account in the Mexican league, finding the net in Pachuca’s 1-1 draw away to Club León. While the result did not secure victory for his team, the goal carries special significance for the winger, who is gradually regaining top form after a lengthy absence due to injury.
Starting for the first time this season, Idrissi made an immediate impact. Driving down the left flank, he cut into the box before delivering a precise cross that forced a foul on Brazilian striker Alemão. Following a VAR review, the referee awarded Pachuca a penalty, which Idrissi calmly converted to break the deadlock.
Prior to this match, Idrissi had only featured as a substitute in two games. This first goal and starting appearance therefore highlight his return to form, both physically and technically, and provide a major confidence boost for the remainder of the season. With this point, Pachuca sit third in the Liga MX standings, behind Cruz Azul and leaders Monterrey, with the rest of matchday six still to be played.
