AJ Auxerre continues its summer transfer window with a new arrival. The club officially announced on Friday, August 1, 2025, the loan of midfielder Oussama El Azzouzi. The Moroccan international is loaned for one season by Bologna, without a purchase option.
This is the sixth signing of the summer for AJA. After several movements, the Icaunais club is strengthening its midfield this time. At 24 years old, El Azzouzi already has six caps with Morocco. He notably won the bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games with the Atlas Lions.
Trained in the Netherlands, the player also holds Dutch nationality. He made his breakthrough in Belgium during the 2022-2023 season, playing for Union Saint-Gilloise. That season, he appeared in 34 matches, including 7 in the Europa League. Thanks to his performances, he joined Bologna in the summer of 2023.
His first season in Serie A was promising. Indeed, he took part in 18 games, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists. Unfortunately, the following season was more difficult. Due to injuries, he only played two matches.
Oussama El Azzouzi therefore arrives at AJA with a clear desire: to revive his career. The defensive midfielder will wear number 17 this season. He hopes to quickly regain his best form under the guidance of Christophe Pélissier.
