In an interview with the Turkish news agency “DHA,” Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk shared his insights on squad management and transfer prospects. He specifically addressed the situation of Hakim Ziyech, whose performances and playing time have raised questions.
“I spoke with Ziyech. His teammates are in good form, but he told us he is not satisfied with the playing time he has been given. He is considering negotiating with other clubs once the transfer window opens. Situations like this can sometimes be reflected in a player’s body language, especially when they are substituted. Ziyech is unhappy with his lack of minutes on the pitch and seems close to leaving,” Okan Buruk stated.
Despite high expectations upon his arrival, Hakim Ziyech has struggled to establish himself in Galatasaray’s squad. In the league, the Moroccan international has featured in only 5 out of 16 matches. Across all competitions, he has played just 11 games out of 25. These statistics highlight his limited role in the coach’s plans, a factor that could accelerate his departure in the winter transfer window.
As Galatasaray aims to remain competitive on all fronts, the handling of Ziyech’s situation could prove crucial for both the player and the club. Whether an agreement can be reached with a new destination for the former Chelsea player remains to be seen.
