Lazio has officially announced the signing of Moroccan international Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona. The 20-year-old midfielder joins the Roman club on a permanent transfer. The Italian club confirmed the news through an official statement:
« S.S. Lazio announces the permanent acquisition of player Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona F.C. The player, born in 2004, will wear the number 21 jersey. »
Initially linked with Rennes, who closely followed his performances in Serie A, Belahyane ultimately opted for the Italian capital. Lazio accelerated negotiations in recent hours and successfully convinced both the player and his club. This season, he has played 22 Serie A matches, providing two assists, further proving his potential at the highest level. His versatility attracted interest from several clubs, including Chelsea, Marseille, and Rennes, but Lazio ultimately secured his signature. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is currently estimated at €10 million.
Hellas Verona also released a statement confirming his departure:
« Hellas Verona FC announces that it has permanently transferred the sporting rights of midfielder Reda Belahyane to Società Sportiva Lazio. Hellas Verona FC thanks him and wishes him the best for his future career. »
By joining Lazio, Belahyane reunites with Marco Baroni, the coach who handed him his Serie A debut at Verona. Now, the Atlas Lion will aim to establish himself within the Roman club and continue his development in a highly competitive environment.
