FC Volendam recorded a crucial victory (3-0) against the bottom team, Heracles Almelo, in a pivotal Eredivisie match (10th round). The home team’s success was largely orchestrated by a remarkable performance from Moroccan midfielder Nordin Bukala, who was both a scorer and an offensive catalyst.
In a match where both teams struggled to find the breakthrough, it was Bukala who unlocked the situation, allowing Volendam to gain a psychological advantage just before halftime (42′). From a well-taken corner by Robin van Cruijsen, Mawouna Amevor deflected the ball to the far post, where Bukala, left unmarked, simply had to push the ball into the net.
Nordin Bukala’s presence and vision were also decisive in extending the scoreline in the second half. After the second goal and the expulsion of Heracles player Mario Engels, Volendam capitalized on the spaces created, with Bukala playing a key role in the build-up to the third goal. Through a quick and effective action, he was able to send winger Aurelio Oehlers through on the left side. Oehlers then dribbled inside to finish beautifully into the top corner.
Bukala’s teammates, who secured their second victory of the season, now sit in tenth place in the league table with 10 points accumulated after 10 matches in the Dutch championship.
