As part of the preparations for the matches against Niger (September 5) and Zambia (September 8), the new Atlas Lion, Neil El Aynaoui, took part in his first training session at Maâmora.
“I’m very happy to finally be here. The welcome has been excellent, and now I can’t wait to get to work,” said the midfielder, before adding: “It’s a great honour to join the national team.”
The former RC Lens player, now with AS Roma, spoke about his conversations with Hoalid Regragui: “We had been in contact for a while. The coach has always given me good advice, and I’m very happy to be here today.”
Even though he hasn’t had the chance to meet all of his teammates yet, El Aynaoui says he’s already ready to contribute: “I’m here to help the team. I had heard about the incredible atmosphere surrounding the national squad, and I can’t wait to experience the Moroccan fans.”
Finally, he was impressed by the facilities at the Mohammed VI complex: “I had already seen videos, but seeing it with my own eyes is impressive. I’ve never experienced a center like this in my career. Everything is in place here to work in the best conditions.”
