The Round of 16 of the Europa League started this evening and saw several Lions of the Atlas facing each other on the European stage. Tonight, Nayef Aguerd and Noussair Mazraoui went head-to-head.
The match was of high quality and saw our two Lions battle it out, both performing very well. Special mention goes to Nayef Aguerd, whose form had raised concerns after his repeated alerts. That said, the game offered a beautiful performance, with Manchester United dominating the first half before Real Sociedad raised their level of play. In the second half, Manchester United took the lead before Real Sociedad equalized with a penalty, thus leveling the match. The return leg at Old Trafford therefore holds particular significance for both teams and our two Moroccans.
