Morocco accelerates on the Ayyoub Bouaddi case

The Ayyoub Bouaddi case has reached a significant milestone. According to the Moroccan daily Assabah, the LOSC Lille midfielder has recently obtained his Moroccan national identity card (CNI), a key administrative step towards a potential sporting affiliation with the Moroccan national team.

At 18 years old, the player, born in France and having gone through the French youth selections, remains eligible for a change of association at the international level as long as he has not played an official match with the French senior team. Obtaining the CNI is often seen as an essential prerequisite for the next steps in the process, particularly the establishment of the necessary documents and, potentially, the submission of a switch application in accordance with FIFA regulations.

An Influential Battle Under Close Observation

Bouaddi’s progress at Lille has placed his name at the center of growing attention, both from the Moroccan and French sides. In recent months, the prospect of seeing the player switch to the Atlas Lions has regularly fueled discussions, supported by media outlets and specialized accounts.

For the FRMF, the stakes are clear: to secure a young profile, already exposed to high-level competition, capable of bringing density and creativity to the midfield in the medium term. For France, the challenge is to avoid losing a talent with considerable room for growth.

    Goal: Be Ready for March

According to information circulating around the case, the idea is to move quickly to make the player eligible as soon as possible, with the international window in March in sight if administrative deadlines and federal validation allow. However, as long as the procedures are not completed and validated, the timing remains uncertain, and the player retains the option to delay.

One thing is certain: obtaining this CNI is a strong signal, as it reflects a concrete movement in a case that, until now, has primarily been played out in the realm of intentions and projections.
