Migné: “A tough group but an opportunity for Haiti”

The draw for the 2026 World Cup has placed Haiti in the formidable Group C, alongside Brazil, Morocco, and Scotland. An immense challenge but also an exceptional showcase for the Haitian national team, as highlighted by its coach, Sébastien Migné, following the ceremony.

Aware of the gap in experience and status between the teams, Migné emphasized the immense visibility this draw offers:

“We have a tough group since we will be playing against the legendary team when we think of the World Cup (Brazil) and then a semi-finalist from the last tournament, Morocco. If we want to be positive, we can say that this is a fantastic visibility for Haiti, for our national team, a tremendous reward for our players. Now we have to rise to the occasion. High-level football is a perpetual restart. We had the chance to perform and qualify. Now we will face different types of opponents. We will need to raise our level even further.”

Haiti, making a notable return to the global stage, will approach this World Cup with humility but also ambition: the ambition to compete with three established nations and to continue its progress. For Migné, this draw should be seen as an additional step in building a team that continues to surprise.
