To close their home season, RC Lens put on a true spectacle for their supporters. Against a Monaco team that looked unrecognizable, the Sang et Or won in style (4-0), led by an inspired El Aynaoui, who scored a brace.

In a fiery atmosphere at Bollaert, Will Still’s men, recently appointed as Lens coach, got off to a perfect start. From a driven cross by Mendy, El Aynaoui, unmarked in the box, rose to place a header past the goalkeeper to open the scoring (1-0, 21st minute).

After the break, the Lens players continued their dominance. In the 56th minute, a shot from Mendy was blocked by Singo, but the ball fell to El Aynaoui, who finished with his right foot to complete his brace. The Lion of the Atlas now has 8 goals and 1 assist this season in Ligue 1.

AS Monaco couldn’t recover and conceded a third goal at the hour mark. Thomasson was on hand to finish off a deflected shot from Aguilar and tap the ball into the net (3-0, 66th minute). Then, in the 78th minute, Zaroury attempted a poorly aimed cross that turned into a perfect lob over Köhn (4-0). The Moroccan winger now has 2 goals and 3 assists to his name.

For AS Monaco, Eliesse Ben Seghir started the match but never truly found his rhythm. He was substituted in the 83rd minute after a mediocre performance, much like his team.
