Kalusha Bwalya: “We have to beat Morocco”

Zambian football icon Kalusha Bwalya is doing everything he can to galvanize the Chipolopolos ahead of their decisive match against Morocco. With the Atlas Lions already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, and their coach, Hoalid Regragui, having announced he will not field his first-team, this offers a glimmer of hope for Zambia, as a win is essential to increase their chances of qualifying.

“The boys look good and motivated; I shared one or two words with them. Like every Zambian fan I am looking forward to the game. We will use Morocco as the team to beat,” Bwalya said.

“If we aspire to get to a good level, we have a good chance, we have the ingredients, we have the players we need, we have to beat Morocco,” said Kalusha after watching the Chipolopolo Boys’ final training session.

Bwalya was invited by the Zambian Football Association president, Keith Mweemba, to support the team at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
