Juliën Mesbahi, the promising central defender from FC Twente, has officially chosen to represent Morocco on the international stage. His change of sporting nationality is now confirmed on FIFA’s new dedicated portal. Formerly the captain of the Netherlands U-18 team, the 19-year-old strengthens the ranks of Mohamed Ouahbi’s Atlas Cubs in anticipation of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Ivory Coast.
Trained in the Netherlands and accustomed to the Dutch youth selections, Mesbahi ultimately opted for Morocco, thereby enhancing the national squad for this continental competition. His integration is a significant asset for the Cubs, who will benefit from his experience and potential.
This first major event wearing the Moroccan jersey will provide the young defender with an opportunity to establish himself and showcase his talent within the Moroccan squad.
