While his name is being linked to several European clubs, Moroccan international Ismael Saibari (13 caps, 3 goals) is keeping a cool head. The PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder (44 appearances, 15 goals, and 14 assists) refuses to get carried away despite the transfer rumors.
In an interview with Dutch journalist Rik Elfrink, Saibari was keen to clarify his situation. “You probably have my agent’s number?” he joked. “I’ve read a lot of things, but he only contacts me when there’s something really concrete. For now, that’s not the case.”
Currently preparing for the Johan Cruijff Shield—the Dutch Super Cup—the 24-year-old remains focused on his immediate goals. “What matters to me now is to prepare well with PSV. We have a trophy to go for in two weeks,” he emphasized.
Though he doesn’t hide his ambitions, Saibari is thoughtful about his future. “Of course, I want to take the next step, but it has to be the right project. I can still improve here. I think I could have scored more goals and provided more assists.”
According to sources close to the club, several teams have shown interest, but PSV does not intend to let their Moroccan international go without a significant offer. A sign of his value, according to Saibari: “If a club is willing to let you go easily, it’s never a good sign.”
Further proof of his rising value: Ismael Saibari is now estimated at €27 million by the specialized website Transfermarkt.
