Hamza Mendyl ends the year with an assist
Hamza Mendyl contributed to his team, Oud-Heverlee Leuven’s victory against Beerschot (2-0) in the 20th round of the Belgian Championship. Starting the game, the Moroccan left-back delivered a solid performance, standing out with his impactful offensive runs. As early as the 16th minute, he showcased his involvement in the game with a dangerous shot that narrowly missed the target. The introduction of his compatriot Youssef Maziz in the 19th minute further bolstered Leuven’s attack. Maziz was highly active, creating several chances, although repeatedly denied by Beerschot’s goalkeeper, Tobe Leysen.
The second half proved decisive for Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Hamza Mendyl provided an assist to Nigerian striker Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi for the opening goal in the 76th minute. Shortly after, Ikwuemesi scored again, securing three points for the home team.
