The chapter of Hoalid Regragui at the helm of the Atlas Lions has come to a close. Following the official announcement of his departure, reactions quickly poured in, starting with that of Achraf Hakimi, one of the key players of the national team, who wanted to pay a heartfelt tribute to the coach.

On his social media, the PSG full-back praised the impact of the Moroccan coach and the legacy he left to the group:

“Walid Regragui, thank you for the exceptional work you have done at the head of the Moroccan national team. Your leadership, passion, and vision have inspired not only the players but also an entire country and millions of supporters around the world.”

Hakimi also emphasized the human dimension and the mindset instilled within the locker room, highlighting the ‘niya’ — this sincere intention and faith in collective effort:

“Thank you for believing in Moroccan talent, for strengthening the team spirit, and for showing that with discipline, hard work, and especially with the niya, we can achieve great things.”

Finally, the emblematic captain of this generation summarized in a few words the mark left by Regragui in the history of the national team:

“You have left an unforgettable imprint in the history of Moroccan football. Thank you for making us dream and for carrying our colors with such pride. Legend.”

Beyond the emotion, this tribute illustrates the strong bond woven between Regragui and his group, as well as the respect earned among its leaders. It remains to be seen what comes next, with an official announcement expected from the FRMF to frame the transition and open a new chapter for the Moroccan national team.
