Arriving at Al-Duhail at the end of January, Hakim Ziyech shared his thoughts on adapting to the Qatari club during a press conference held this Thursday. The Moroccan international highlighted the importance of the support from his teammates and coaching staff, which has helped him feel comfortable quickly. “The support from everyone, both on and off the field, gave me a sense of comfort from the start. This confidence and harmony have developed over time, and I am grateful to be in an environment that helps me shine and give my best,” he stated, expressing his well-being within the team.
However, although the adaptation process has gone smoothly, Ziyech admitted that he is not yet at 100% of his abilities. “It’s natural for any player to need regular playing time to regain their level. This is an essential step in the process, especially after a long period with no official matches,” he explained. Indeed, the former Chelsea and Galatasaray player has not played a full match since September, but he remains optimistic about his progress. “I am progressing steadily, and my rhythm is gradually increasing. I have no doubts about my abilities,” he added with conviction.
Despite his ongoing fitness development, Ziyech remains confident about the future, particularly regarding his performances with Al-Duhail. He says he is ready to make a difference on the field once he fully regains his form. Regarding his return to the Moroccan national team, although coach Walid Regragui was seen in the stands during his last match, Ziyech doesn’t seem in a hurry to rejoin the Atlas Lions, with his focus being on regaining his form with his club first.
