FUS-Raja: A silent clash at the Bachir Stadium

The FUS Rabat and Raja Casablanca are set to face off this Sunday, January 26, in a rescheduled match from the 18th round of the Botola Pro. However, this highly anticipated encounter will take place without fans, a decision that once again undermines the Moroccan championship for a derby.

The Rabat-based club announced that the match, scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia, will be played behind closed doors. According to the FUS statement, this measure was taken for organizational reasons related to the current state of the venue. This decision could alter the dynamic of the game, which is usually fueled by the electrifying atmosphere in the stands.

This match was postponed due to Raja’s participation in the CAF Champions League, a competition the Green Eagles exited prematurely during the group stage. This continental setback has left Raja needing to redouble its efforts domestically to satisfy its supporters, as the Casablanca club currently sits in just 8th place.

Meanwhile, FUS Rabat continues its strong season and will approach this clash with confidence. Despite being deprived of their passionate supporters, the team from Rabat has the opportunity to confirm their good start to the season against a historic rival.

The behind-closed-doors setting will pose an additional challenge for both teams, accustomed to drawing energy from the vibrant atmosphere of Moroccan stadiums. Nonetheless, the sporting stakes remain high, and the 90 minutes promise a fierce battle for three crucial points in an eerily quiet environment.

The outcome of this match could prove pivotal for the remainder of the season for both sides.
