    For AS, Morocco impresses

The Spanish daily AS did not hold back after Morocco’s victory against Mozambique in Tangier. According to the newspaper, the Atlas Lions delivered “an almost perfect match,” confirming an irresistible momentum and credible ambitions ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

According to AS, Morocco has once again shown that it is now among the most feared teams, with 21 victories in its last 22 matches, regularly fielding players competing in major leagues.

    Brahim Díaz, the Game-Changer

AS particularly highlights the performance of Brahim Díaz, who was a starter under Hoalid Regragui and a true offensive engine of the evening. For the Madrid media, the Real Madrid player was the most inspired on the pitch: impactful, creative, and unpredictable.

The newspaper notably emphasizes his role in the opening goal: a touch of class from Brahim, followed by a pass from Mazraoui, before Ounahi finished with a precise gesture. AS also insists that Brahim posed a threat several times, particularly with a delicately crafted cross that was narrowly headed over by El Kaabi.

    Total Domination… and One Regret

In its analysis, AS describes a match completely controlled by Morocco, to the point that the Mozambicans hardly ever troubled the defense. The second half was described as a copy-paste of the first: total control, offensive creativity, and managed intensity.

The only downside for the Spanish media remains the missed penalty by El Kaabi, labeled “the most absurd opportunity” by AS after a handball by the Mozambican defender. The Moroccan’s shot ultimately hit the crossbar.

A Team That Strikes Fear Before the World Cup

AS extensively emphasizes the depth of the Lions’ bench, praising the introduction of players like Saibari or Igamane, which they believe demonstrates that Morocco now has a pool capable of competing at the highest level.

The newspaper concludes on a strong note: Morocco is now one of the most serious and balanced teams in the world, and its candidacy to shine at the next World Cup “is more than solid.”

Another victory, another clean sheet, and new certainties: for AS, the Atlas Lions advance with the same confidence as the great nations and position themselves as a formidable opponent for the coming year.
