PSV Eindhoven made a significant impact this weekend by winning on Feyenoord’s turf (2-3), thanks to an exceptional hat-trick from Ismail Saibari. The Moroccan international shone brightly in a spectacular clash held at De Kuip, delivering a prestigious victory for his team.
The kickoff was delayed due to papers thrown onto the pitch, but from the very first minutes, Saibari ignited the match. Well-served by Mauro Júnior, he swiftly eliminated his defender before scoring with a right-footed shot from outside the box (0-1). Feyenoord attempted to respond, notably claiming two penalties before halftime, but to no avail.
Upon returning from the locker rooms, Robin van Persie’s men quickly equalized thanks to Luciano Valente (1-1). However, Saibari’s response was swift: first, a powerful left-footed shot that hit the inside of the post (1-2), followed by a superb delicate lob after a setup from Til (1-3). A top-level performance that left the stadium in shock.
Despite a goal from Oussama Targhalline in the 73rd minute (2-3), Feyenoord could not come back. This marks the first defeat for the Rotterdammers this season in the Eredivisie.
With this victory, PSV moves level with Feyenoord in the standings, only trailing on goal difference. But the man of the match, Ismail Saibari, undoubtedly made a lasting impression in Rotterdam with one of his greatest performances in Eindhoven colors.
