The Morocco U17 national team, coached by Nabil Baha, suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against England U18, the same scoreline as the Morocco U20s’ recent loss to the United States.
Morocco had managed to equalize in the 50th minute thanks to Oualid Ibn Salah, a young talent from the Mohamed VI Academy, just minutes after coming on at halftime. He was perfectly assisted by Mouh Yassir of AS Monaco, giving Moroccan fans a brief moment of hope.
However, England quickly regained the lead with a second goal in the 76th minute. The match ended dramatically for the Morocco U17 Lions, as they conceded two more goals in the final minutes, bringing the final score to 4-1.
The match was also marked by an injury to Hamza Bouhaddi, a youth player from FUS, who had to be stretchered off. Both the staff and supporters hope it is not a serious injury.
Despite this setback, Morocco U17 can take pride in the strong individual performances of certain players, particularly Ibn Salah’s equalizing goal, which showcased the promising potential of Morocco’s young talents.
