The Moroccan contingent at Al Dhafra played a pivotal role in the crucial victory of the team during the 7th matchday of the United Arab Emirates championship. Against Ittihad Kalba, forwards Mohamed El Khaloui and Abderahmane Soussi each found the back of the net, securing a valuable win for their club.
After the opening goal from defender Sabeel, who scored an own goal, the confirmation came in the second half from Mohamed El Khaloui. The Moroccan winger doubled the lead with a low shot following a quick counter-attack (72′). As both a scorer and an excellent creator, El Khaloui laid the groundwork for a match that his team would dominate. With this goal, El Khaloui becomes the second most decisive player for Al Dhafra in the Pro League this season, with a total of 5 contributions (3 goals and 2 assists), just behind his compatriot Karim El Berkaoui, who has scored 6 goals. While the forward shone, it was another Moroccan, Abderahmane Soussi, who would close out the spectacle.
Abderahmane Soussi’s entry into the game proved to be highly effective. Introduced in the 70th minute to replace his compatriot Karim El Berkaoui, Soussi quickly adapted to the pace of the match. He soon made his mark by scoring his team’s third goal, taking advantage of a good assist from Togolese player Ezeckiel Noumonvi to seal the outcome of the match.
Apart from the offensive exploits of the Moroccans, defensive stability was ensured by their compatriot Mouhcine Rabja, who played the entire match. The defender delivered a solid performance, contesting all 90 minutes.
These individual performances in the United Arab Emirates championship are sure to attract the attention of coach Tarik Sektioui, who will be in charge of the Moroccan team for the next FIFA Arab Cup, to be held in Qatar from December 1st to 18th, 2025. The integration of El Berkaoui, El Khaloui, Tissoudali (Khorfakkan), all in the top 10 goalscorers and assist providers, as well as young talents like Soussi (22 years old) and Marouan Azarkan (23 years old), could provide the Moroccan national B team with a formidable attacking asset.
