Olympiacos claimed a resounding 5-0 victory over Panserraikos this Sunday at the “Geórgios Karaiskáki” Stadium, in the 3rd round of the Greek Super League. The match was highlighted by another goal from Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi, already proving decisive since the start of the season.
Reduced to ten men as early as the 35th minute, the visitors, bottom of the table, never posed a threat to the Greek leaders. After the break, El Kaabi opened the scoring in the 48th minute with an unstoppable header from a pinpoint cross by Francisco Ortega. The Moroccan striker thus netted his second goal in three league games, after his earlier strike against Asteras Aktor, confirming both his efficiency and his key role at the forefront of Olympiacos’ attack.
The attacking machine then shifted into high gear. Ortega doubled the lead in the 66th minute, before the introduction of Podence and Taremi turned the closing stages into a showcase. Podence made it 3-0 with a long-range strike in the 71st minute, while Taremi grabbed a late brace (88’, 90’+3). Final score: 5-0.
With this latest victory, Olympiakos maintains a perfect record (3 wins in 3 matches) and can approach its upcoming European clash against Paphos in the Champions League qualifiers with confidence.
