Moroccan players Mohamed El Khaloui and Karim El Berkaoui shone for Al-Dhafra in the 5th round of the UAE Pro League. Instrumental in their team’s 3-1 victory over Al Bataeh, they were the main architects of the win: El Berkaoui netted a brace, while El Khaloui, provider of the second goal, also found the net with a fine finish to seal the match.
Al-Dhafra came from behind after conceding in the 5th minute to claim victory in the second half. The equaliser came from a header by striker Karim El Berkaoui in the 61st minute (1-1). Just two minutes later, Mohamed El Khaloui delivered a perfect pass through the middle to El Berkaoui, who netted his second goal to put the Moroccan forward’s side ahead (2-1, 63rd).
Mohamed El Khaloui also made sure to add his name to the scoresheet. Breaking down the left flank, he led a swift counter-attack, took advantage of a poor outing from the opposing goalkeeper, dribbled past two defenders and finished with a delicate lob into the empty net.
With this victory, Al-Dhafra move up to 9 points and climb to 6th place in the UAE Pro League standings. Karim El Berkaoui, who struck twice, is now closing in on the top of the scoring chart, sitting in second place just one goal behind leader Kodjo Laba.
