LONDON, ENGLAND - MARCH 12: Couhaib Driouech of PSV Eindhoven celebrates scoring his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League 2024/25 Round of 16 Second Leg match between Arsenal FC and PSV at Arsenal Stadium on March 12, 2025 in London, England. Couhaib Driouech shared his thoughts after the Champions League return match between Arsenal and PSV, which ended in a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium. Following a heavy 1-7 defeat at home in the first leg, PSV was simply hoping to make a good impression in the return match. Moroccan international Ismail Saibari was absent for this match.

“It was a special evening,” Driouech told the Ziggo Sport camera. “It was my first start in the Champions League, and I scored a nice goal, so I’m really happy. I learned today that I was starting, it was a great opportunity for me to show what I can do. Even though we were down 7-1 after the first leg, we had to give our best, and I think the team showed a good face on the pitch.”

The winger, who scored a magnificent lob, also reflected on that goal: “It was a beautiful goal. My family sent me a message right after; it’s always nice. I’m really pleased with that goal. Before each match, I think about possible scenarios, and I knew that if I was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, I would attempt a lob. That’s exactly what I did.”

Driouech also shared his teammates’ reaction after his goal: “I wanted to celebrate right away, but since we were already down 9-2, the guys pushed me towards the supporters and told me to celebrate with them.”
