Chemsdine Talbi nearly secured a prestigious victory for Sunderland at Anfield. The Moroccan international opened the scoring with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, deflected by Van Dijk, leaving Alisson with no chance to react. This goal rewarded the visitors’ solidity and confirmed the excellent form of the Moroccan winger, who is becoming increasingly influential in the English league.

Before this goal, Sunderland had already put Liverpool in difficulty, despite a first half rich in chances for both sides. The Mackems then gained confidence, forcing Alisson into several decisive interventions. It was only logical that Talbi broke the deadlock, taking advantage of a high recovery to temporarily stun Anfield.

Liverpool ultimately salvaged a draw thanks to a shot from Wirtz deflected by Mukiele into his own net, avoiding another defeat. The Reds even came close to disaster at the very end of the match, but Chiesa saved his team on a last counter-attack from Sunderland. Despite the equalizer, Talbi emerged as the standout player for the visitors.
