Despite pressure from Belgium to include him in their national team, Chemsdine Talbi has chosen to represent his country of origin, Morocco. At just 19 years old, the young talent from Club Brugge KV is already establishing himself as a key player within his club, boasting impressive statistics with 37 matches played, 7 goals, and 5 assists across all competitions this season.

Now under the guidance of Walid Regragui in the national team, Talbi cherishes every moment of this first call-up and expresses his pride in joining the Lions of the Atlas:

I learned about it on the day the selection was announced. I was really very happy. I had just finished training, and when I looked at my phone, I saw that my family had sent me numerous messages. That’s when I discovered my selection. I was really happy because it was a childhood dream to join great players, to represent my country, Morocco, and to continue developing my football.

Aware of the expectations placed upon him, the young midfielder does not hide his enthusiasm at the prospect of playing alongside experienced players:

I already knew a few players, and they welcomed me very well. I learn every day from their presence and getting to know them better. I closely follow all the matches; I watch them all.

Impressed by the environment of the Moroccan national team, Talbi praises the facilities at the Mohammed VI Complex and the high standards of the coaching staff:

Here, the facilities are incredible, the pitches are excellent, the coach is great, everything is top-notch.

With a clear ambition and unwavering determination, Chemsdine Talbi wants to establish himself and make Moroccans proud:

My ambition is to win as many titles as possible to make Moroccans proud and to enjoy playing on the field.

This mindset aligns perfectly with the mentality of the Lions of the Atlas, where each player is called to give their best under the national jersey.
