In the fourth round of the prestigious Champions League, Royale Union Saint-Gilloise traveled to Spain to face Atlético Madrid. The match took place at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, where Diego Simeone’s men secured a logical victory (3-1).

Starting the match, Anouar Aït El Hadj was substituted in the 74th minute for Atlas Lion Sofiane Boufal, whose entry immediately energized the Belgian offensive play. Just six minutes after coming on, Boufal made his mark with a pinpoint cross in the 80th minute, delivered onto the head of Ross Sykes, who scored a goal of hope.

A top-class assist that briefly reignited the visitors (2-1), before Llorente extinguished their last hopes by scoring the third Madrid goal in stoppage time (90+6).

Despite the defeat, Sofiane Boufal showcased his technical quality and game sense, confirming that he remains a key asset for his team when coming off the bench.
