Coming on during the match, Sofiane Boufal quickly made his mark in the game between OM and Union Saint-Gilloise on the 6th day of the Champions League. On a night contested in Belgium, the Moroccan international reminded everyone why his talent can change the pace of a match.

As soon as he stepped onto the pitch, Boufal provided offensive solutions and took multiple initiatives. Found in the box shortly after his entry, he managed to execute a controlled touch followed by a shot, but Rulli caught the ball. A few minutes later, the Moroccan posed another threat with a left-footed shot that prompted a decisive save from the Argentine goalkeeper. His influence continued towards the end of the match when a perfectly weighted through ball found Promise David, who was ultimately flagged offside after finding the back of the net.

Despite a tense finish marked by two disallowed goals for Union and several crucial saves from Rulli, OM triumphed 3-2 thanks to a brace from Mason Greenwood and a goal from Igor Paixão. This victory allows the Marseillais, who also feature Nayef Aguerd and Bilal Nadir, to climb to 9 points in this group stage, solidifying their chances of qualification.
