PARIS, FRANCE - NOVEMBER 04: Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain is carried off the pitch after picking up an injury upon being fouled by Luis Diaz of Bayern Munich (not pictured) during the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 League Phase MD4 match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern München at Parc des Princes on November 04, 2025 in Paris, France. It was a cruel evening at the Parc des Princes. On the 4th matchday of the Champions League, Achraf Hakimi’s Paris Saint-Germain is currently facing Bayern Munich (0-2) in a highly anticipated match. What was supposed to be a European celebration unfortunately turned into a nightmare for the Moroccan full-back.

In the 45th minute, the Atlas Lion collapsed to the ground after a violent tackle from Luis Díaz. His left ankle was severely affected, causing cries of pain and deep concern on the pitch. Supported by the medical staff, Hakimi left the field in tears, unable to continue the match.

Initially shown just a yellow card, the Bayern player’s action was ultimately reviewed by VAR, resulting in a direct red card. It was a dangerous tackle, with both feet off the ground, that prematurely ended the Moroccan defender’s match.

This injury casts a shadow over both PSG and the Moroccan national team, as Hakimi was having an excellent start to the season. Medical examinations are expected to determine the severity of his injury in the coming hours.
