The 34th round of the Championship was marked by an intense confrontation between Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the hosts. Despite the defeat, Moroccan attacking midfielder Ilias Chair stood out by providing the assist for his team’s only goal.

While this loss is a disappointment for QPR supporters, Chair once again demonstrated his influence this season. He set up Jimmy Dunne for the equalizer in the 74th minute, then threatened with two close attempts (80’ and 83’), narrowly missing the equalizer. Even before Portsmouth took the lead in the second half (48’ and 51’), the Moroccan playmaker showcased his creativity and passing ability, initiating several attacking moves.

The physical intensity was one of the key features of the match, as evidenced by the numerous duels and the five yellow cards issued, including one for Ilias Chair in injury time. Despite the efforts of Queens Park Rangers, Portsmouth managed to hold on to their lead and secure three crucial points, moving up to 17th place with 39 points. QPR, on the other hand, drops to 14th place with a total of 44 points.
