The draw for the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations took place this Thursday at the CAF headquarters. This edition, which will be held in Ivory Coast from April 26 to May 18, 2025, will bring together 13 African nations competing for the continental title and a qualification for the U-20 World Cup.
Morocco finds itself in a highly competitive Group B alongside Nigeria (7 titles), Egypt (4 titles), and South Africa. This group promises to be particularly fierce, with opponents well-versed in major competitions. Meanwhile, Senegal, the defending champion, will face Zambia, Kenya, and Sierra Leone in Group C, while the host nation, Ivory Coast, will play in Group A alongside DR Congo, Ghana, Tanzania, and a representative from Uniffac.
This tournament is even more important as it will serve as a stepping stone toward the 2025 U-20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in Chile from September 27 to October 19. Only the top four teams will earn their tickets to this global event. Morocco will therefore face a dual challenge: to shine on the African stage and secure qualification for the World Cup.
